Sixty-eight days, 16 castaways, four tribes, dozens of broken alliances, a quitter, a mother who didn't really have cancer, and now, one Sole Survivor! Brentin Sweeney, the 18-year-old student from Halifax, Nova Scotia, won the game in a 5 to 2 vote against K.J., the 49-year-old administrative assistant and graphic designer from Urbana, IL in a final Tribal Council that seemed, at first, too close to call. After winning the game, Brentin said, "I am truly honoured to be awarded the title of Sole Survivor of Pearl Islands season 7...thanks for making this game so awesome! To all who voted for me thanks! Don't take anything personal, it's just a game and it's over!"

CLOSE VOTE AT TRIBAL COUNCIL?

Although several Jury Members mentioned that their vote was very much undecided, it seemed quite decisive when the votes were tallied. The final vote count was five for Brentin and only two for K.J., contrary to the gossip that was circulating before the votes were revealed. The only two jurors to vote for K.J. to win the game over Brentin were Devyn, writing "Go girlll!!!" on her voting parchment, and Nicolas, who said while voting that K.J. was the only one of the two finalists who did not lie to him at any point during the game. Jeffrey even thought K.J. did a "respectable job" at the Final Tribal Council, but voted for Brentin anyway, and Nicolas seemed to have his mind made up even before voting began! He voted for K.J. to win the game.

A SIGH OF RELIEF

I'd like to thank all the players and fans of Virtual Survivor 7: Pearl Islands. Without your participation, this wonderful season would not have been possible. I hope that everyone had fun, because after all, "it's just a game!" And congratulations to our Sole Survivor, Brentin Sweeney! Great game -- you AND K.J., and everyone else! I look forward to playing again with all of you in the future.
